Uiseong County Achieves "Excellence" in Sewerage Management for Three Consecutive Years

Comprehensive Evaluation Praised for Facility, Personnel, and Pipeline Improvements

Uiseong County has once again demonstrated its nationwide competitiveness in the field of public sewerage operation and management.

On the 27th, Uiseong County (Governor Kim Jusu) announced that it was selected as an excellent institution by environmental agencies at the "2025 Public Sewerage Operation and Management Performance Evaluation," hosted by the Ministry of Climate and Energy Environment and held in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province.

This evaluation is a system implemented annually since 2001, targeting local governments nationwide to assess the systematic and efficient operation of sewerage systems and to encourage the establishment of sustainable management frameworks.

Since 2022, the county has been selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years, consistently proving its stable management capabilities even among small- and medium-sized local governments.

In this year's evaluation, the county received high marks for its multi-layered management achievements, including facility improvements to enhance the efficiency of sewage treatment plant operations, strengthening the capabilities of professional personnel, reinforcing measures to reduce odors and prevent water pollution, and maintaining aging pipelines. The establishment of a "systematic environmental management model," going beyond simple maintenance, was identified as a key factor in being selected as an excellent institution.

Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, stated, "Our field-oriented efforts to improve the living environment of county residents have led to this award," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a pleasant and safe residential environment."
