53 Detection Devices Including Radio Frequency Detectors Available for Rental
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 3, 2025, that it plans to increase the utilization and convenience of its illegal filming detection device rental service at public facilities to prevent digital sex crimes.
The city is currently lending a total of 53 devices-including radio frequency detectors, lens detectors, and infrared detectors-free of charge to citizens so they can independently check for illegal cameras in public restrooms and other everyday spaces.
To ensure citizen safety and prevent digital sex crimes, the city intends to further enhance the utilization and user convenience of the equipment rental service.
In addition, the city will strengthen psychological counseling, medical and legal support, and treatment and recovery programs to support victims of sex crimes. The city is also providing subsidies to local sexual violence counseling centers, which handled approximately 2,800 counseling cases last year alone, as part of its efforts to support victims of sex crimes.
Sexual violence prevention campaigns and violence prevention education for citizens are also being conducted. Last year, the city enacted the “Yongin City Ordinance on the Prevention of Digital Sex Crimes and Protection and Support for Victims,” and this year, digital sex crime prevention education was provided to approximately 4,600 people.
Starting in 2026, the city plans to expand the target group for prevention education to include multi-use facilities, thereby increasing the effectiveness of its educational efforts.
