Sharing Key Issues and Discussing Business Direction for Next Year
Chairman Lee Jae-yong Not Attending... Will Be Briefed Afterwards
LG Group to Hold Meeting at Twin Towers in Mid-December
Samsung Electronics will hold a global strategy meeting in mid-December to outline its business direction for next year.
According to industry sources on December 2, the Device eXperience (DX) division of Samsung Electronics will hold its global strategy meeting on December 16-17, while the Device Solutions (DS) division will convene on December 18. Each division will share opinions and discuss strategies during these meetings.
The Samsung Electronics global strategy meeting is held twice a year, in June and December, bringing together domestic and international executives to review current issues by business segment and region, and to discuss business goals and sales strategies for the coming year.
Roh Tae-moon, President and Head of the DX division, and Jeon Young-hyun, Vice Chairman and Head of the DS division, are expected to preside over their respective meetings. Approximately 200 executives are expected to attend the DX division meeting, while about 100 will participate in the DS division meeting. As in previous years, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong is not expected to attend the meetings in person but will be briefed on the business strategies afterward.
At this year's meeting, the DX division is likely to focus on sales strategies and business targets for next year's new products, including the Galaxy S26 series. Accordingly, global supply plans for key products and marketing strategies to boost sales are expected to be shared.
The DS division, which is responsible for the semiconductor business, is expected to concentrate on strategies to address the growing demand for high bandwidth memory (HBM) driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI), as well as production plans for general-purpose memory. Given the ongoing global management uncertainties, topics such as risk hedging strategies in response to changes in the global business environment, including high exchange rates, may also be discussed.
Major affiliates are also planning to hold their own strategy meetings during the same period. Samsung Display is scheduled for December 17, Samsung Electro-Mechanics for December 18, and Samsung SDI for December 19.
LG Group is also set to hold a presidents' meeting in mid-December at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, with Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and other top executives in attendance to review business plans for next year.
Earlier, SK Group held a CEO seminar in early November to discuss business strategies for next year. This is one of SK Group's annual events. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won reportedly shared AI response strategies with the CEOs during the seminar.
