Donald Trump, born in 1946 and now 79 years old, has released the results of his magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan to dispel recent rumors about his health. On December 2, Yonhap News reported that the White House, in a public letter, stated that President Trump recently underwent cardiovascular and abdominal MRI scans as part of a comprehensive health checkup.

Recently, President Trump has been caught up in health rumors and issues related to his age, similar to former President Joe Biden, whom he previously criticized for being old. Notably, President Trump underwent his annual health checkup in April, but then had another checkup in October, during which the MRI was performed. However, while Trump disclosed that he had undergone an MRI, he did not reveal which part of his body was scanned or the reason for the procedure, and the White House did not provide further details. It is uncommon in the United States to include an MRI as part of a routine health checkup. This led to suspicions about the state of President Trump’s health, and in response to persistent questions from reporters, Trump announced the previous day that he would release the MRI results.
Sean Bababela, President Trump’s physician and a Navy colonel, explained that the MRI was conducted as a preventive measure, aiming to identify any issues early and to confirm the president’s overall health. He added that the MRI was performed to help maintain the vitality and function of the organs. He stated that Trump’s cardiovascular health is “excellent,” with no abnormalities in the heart or major blood vessels, and that the abdominal MRI showed all major organs to be in very healthy condition. Colonel Bababela noted, “Such a detailed evaluation is typical for a presidential health checkup at President Trump’s age, and this assessment confirms that he is maintaining excellent overall health.”

Recently, U.S. media have speculated that President Trump may be facing aging issues similar to former President Joe Biden, citing instances such as Trump appearing to doze off at events and reducing his public schedule compared to before. Last August, President Trump did not appear in public for three days, during which a photo showing a bluish mark suspected to be a bruise on the back of his hand spread online, raising concerns about his health. The White House explained that the bruise on his hand was caused by soft tissue being mildly irritated due to frequent handshakes and aspirin use.
