Nowdongin Architects, regarded as a leading firm in the field of reconstruction design, has entered the competition to design the Mokdong 10 Complex reconstruction project in Yangcheon District, Seoul. The Mokdong 10 Complex, which will be reborn as a massive transit-oriented development with 4,000 households upon completion, marks Nowdongin's first attempt at a Mokdong New Town project.

According to the maintenance industry on December 1, Korea Land Trust, the developer overseeing the Mokdong 10 Complex reconstruction, closed the bidding for the design firm qualification review this afternoon. Several design firms, including Nowdongin, participated in the process.

The Mokdong 10 Complex is a large-scale development with 2,160 existing households, located adjacent to Sinjeongnegeori Station on Seoul Subway Line 2. After reconstruction, the project will expand to over 4,000 households, making it a mammoth-scale undertaking. From the early stages, it has attracted significant interest from both leading design firms and major construction companies.

This bidding marks Nowdongin's first challenge in a Mokdong New Town complex. Nowdongin considers the Mokdong 10 Complex, with its prime location directly connected to Sinjeongnegeori Station and overwhelming scale, to be the optimal site for implementing its high-end design strategy, the "Landmark Core." The "Landmark Core" approach goes beyond simply creating visually impressive or large-scale complexes; it focuses on establishing a central axis that embodies the symbolic value and identity of the area.

A Nowdongin representative stated, "As seen in the cases of Trimage and Cheongdam Le-EL, Nowdongin's 'Landmark Core' maximizes the brand value of an entire complex by combining locational competitiveness-where residential, commercial, and urban environments converge-with high-end design. We chose Mokdong 10 Complex as our first project in Mokdong because we are confident that the value of the complex aligns with the design direction Nowdongin pursues."

Nowdongin has built an extensive track record in the field of maintenance project design. The company has successfully designed local landmark complexes such as Trimage in Seongdong District's Seoul Forest and Cheongdam Le-EL in Cheongdam-dong, solidifying its position in the industry. Recently, it has also been involved in the design of key projects including the Seocho Jinheung reconstruction near Gangnam Station, Sinbanpo 4th Complex near Express Bus Terminal Station, and Yeouido Gongjak Apartments near Yeouinaru Station. In addition, Nowdongin is participating in the design of Apgujeong District 3 as part of a consortium with Heerim Architects & Planners, and has also entered the competition for the Yeouido Miseong reconstruction project.
