Fifteen railway operating organizations from across the country have come together to continuously improve the user environment in subway stations and train cars, focusing on air quality and noise levels.

Daejeon Transit Corporation has partnered with a total of 15 organizations, including nationwide railway operators and government agencies related to the environment, to enhance air quality in subway stations and address environmental issues.

From November 27 to 28, the corporation hosted the "National Railway Operators Environmental Council" at its headquarters, where participants shared best practices and innovative technologies from each organization and discussed practical solutions for environmental improvements.

This council, organized by Daejeon Transit Corporation, centered on improving the passenger environment, particularly through air quality management and noise reduction in subway stations and train cars.

During the event, the corporation presented its "Ventilation Damper Improvement Project for Station Air Supply and Exhaust," sharing expertise in managing ultrafine dust in underground stations. Busan Transportation Corporation also drew attention by introducing its "Eco-Friendly Direct-Drive Blower Improvement Project."

Research institutions such as the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, the Korea Railroad Research Institute, and the Korea Testing & Research Institute for Chemical Convergence also participated, adding expertise by sharing the latest research and development cases related to the environment.

The council featured active discussions not only on air quality improvement but also on "subway train car noise management measures." Through this, organizations shared challenges encountered in actual operations and explored ways to achieve tangible improvements.

President Lee Gwangchuk stated, "Public interest in environmental issues has been rising recently. Through this council, we will share outstanding achievements and technologies with railway organizations nationwide and do our utmost to continuously improve air quality and noise levels in subway stations and train cars, so that citizens can enjoy a more comfortable experience."
