Sharing Experiences Among Villages
Creating Opportunities for Residents to Learn and Grow Together
Geochang County, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on December 1 that it held the "Geochang County Village Making Performance Sharing Meeting" at the Vitality Recharge Center in Ungyang-myeon, with over 120 participants including residents, village activists, and stakeholders from completed project areas.
This event, held under the theme "To My Grateful Hands," was organized by the Geochang County Village Making Support Center to share the achievements made throughout the year through the collaboration of residents and activists.
The event began with a video presentation highlighting the 2025 accomplishments of the Village Making Support Center. This was followed by case presentations from Dongsan Village and Sungsan Village, providing a platform to share specific results of resident-led village development initiatives.
To further energize the atmosphere, the Woncheon Pungmul Team, composed of residents from Wolcheon Village, delivered a lively performance.
Additionally, the venue featured an exhibition of works such as "Halmae" paintings and fabric art, all created by local residents. Hands-on programs, including the Gajo Halmae Book Concert, were also offered and received enthusiastic responses from participants.
Cultural performances continued with a saxophone performance by residents of Sinwon-myeon and an ocarina performance by residents of Geochang-eup, adding to the festive atmosphere.
One village activist commented, "It was meaningful to reflect on the projects we carried out with residents this year and to recognize each other's efforts. I believe this performance sharing meeting will greatly help villages exchange experiences and develop better plans."
Gu Inmo, Mayor of Geochang County, who attended the event, stated, "The greatest achievements in village transformation come when residents unite their hearts and take action themselves. Today's performance sharing meeting demonstrated how much the Geochang County village community has grown." He added, "Going forward, we will continue to build a sustainable regional development model through cooperation and mutual trust between residents and the administration."
This performance sharing meeting was significant not only as an opportunity to share the activities of 2025, but also as a platform for villages to exchange experiences and for residents to learn from and grow with one another.
