Seocho District "Out-of-School Youth Support Center" Selected as Outstanding Institution in National Comprehensive Evaluation Selected as an Outstanding Institution for the Seocho District Out-of-School Youth Support Project. Provided by Seocho District.

This evaluation, conducted for the first time by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, targeted 222 out-of-school youth support centers nationwide. Seocho District was named among the 15 outstanding institutions, officially recognizing the professionalism and excellence of its support system for out-of-school youth.

The evaluation covered the past three years (2022-2024) and assessed business infrastructure, operational performance, center cooperation, local government support, and exemplary operation cases. The district received high marks for stably implementing essential programs such as counseling, academics, career guidance, emotional support, and health, as well as for establishing a customized support system tailored to the circumstances of the youth.

The Seocho District Out-of-School Youth Support Center focuses on its specialized program, "Seocho Mong(夢)Uri," providing step-by-step support for academics, emotional well-being, career guidance, and independence. The center has operated preparatory classes for the qualification exam, certification courses, job experience programs, counseling support, health checkups, and meal assistance.

This year, the center achieved tangible results: 12 students returned to regular schools, 85 passed the qualification exam, 2 entered university, and 22 found employment. These figures have exceeded the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family’s targets for four consecutive years.

The center also offers a variety of programs to help youth explore career paths and achieve independence. In October, it held a "Global Leadership Camp (Singapore)" with 10 members of the English club "Luggage" participating. The program included collaboration and communication activities, a visit to the National University of Singapore (NUS), and multicultural experiences, broadening participants' international perspectives. According to district officials, student satisfaction was very high.

Seocho District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo stated, "Being selected as an outstanding institution is objective recognition of the continuous support system we have maintained for out-of-school youth," adding, "We will continue to be a strong support so that students can confidently plan their futures."
