Geumcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) announced on November 30 that it will hold the '2025 Year-End Choir Festival' at 7:30 p.m. on December 2 at the Geumnarae Art Hall Grand Theater.
This event will bring together the choirs of Geumcheon District to reflect on the year 2025, encourage one another, and recharge. It is expected to remind participants of the value of choir, where diverse individuals come together, consistently practice, and achieve a common goal.
The first part will begin with a performance by the Yebit Choir. This will be followed by the International Youth Choir and the United Choir under the Southern District Office of Education, who will showcase harmony and communication through their choral performances. The Geumcheon District Senior Choir and the Geumcheon District Women's Choir will also take the stage. In the second part, the EASY Mixed Chorus, composed of participants from the EASY Academy at the Geumcheon Musical Center, and the Harmony Men's Choir, a male club choir formed last year, will perform.
Notably, in the second part, the choirs from the first part and an orchestra will join four vocalists to perform the classic masterpiece, Handel's Messiah, drawing much anticipation. Soprano Hong Yewon, mezzo-soprano Kim Jeongheon, tenor Lee Seunghoon, and baritone Lee Seunghwan will participate in this performance.
The district explained that the choir of over 100 members and the orchestral melodies will deliver a message of communication and harmony to Geumcheon residents, allowing everyone to look back on the happy moments of this year.
Yoo Seonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon District, stated, "Through this year-end choir festival, you will be able to experience the vibrant development of choral arts in our district," adding, "We will continue our efforts to make Geumcheon the hub of choral culture in the southwestern region and a city of culture and the arts."
