Moon Hyuksu, CEO of LG Innotek, has been promoted to President.
On November 27, LG Innotek announced that its board of directors had approved the 2026 executive promotions, which include one promotion to President and five new appointments to Executive Director, for a total of six executives.
LG Innotek explained that this round of executive appointments focused on strengthening the foundation for sustainable, profitability-centered growth by selecting talent who have made significant contributions to enhancing the company’s core business competitiveness.
The company also emphasized the appointment of young research and development (R&D) talent with both future-oriented leadership and expertise. LG Innotek plans to further enhance its core R&D capabilities and accelerate the expansion into future businesses that can create differentiated customer value.
Since being appointed CEO of LG Innotek in December 2023, Moon has led the discovery of future growth businesses for sustainable development and successfully built a robust business portfolio.
In particular, Moon has accelerated various future business areas where the company’s core technologies can be further applied, including automotive AP (processor) modules, FC-BGA (flip-chip ball grid array packages) for semiconductors, autonomous driving sensing components such as LiDAR and radar, and components for robotics.
Previously, Moon served in key positions at LG Innotek, starting as Head of Optical Solution Development in 2013, then as Head of the Research Institute and Head of the Optical Solution Business Division. In December 2022, he became Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), leading the restructuring of the business portfolio and gaining experience across development, business, and strategy.
In addition, LG Innotek newly appointed two Executive Directors in key R&D fields: Moon Yeontae, who led a dramatic yield improvement in optical components using artificial intelligence (AI), and Lee Kyungtae, who played a pivotal role in the autonomous driving new business sector.
Furthermore, Nam Seunghyun, who led efforts to strengthen competitiveness in the automotive power components business; Jang Seungwoo, who contributed to improving the quality competitiveness of optical solutions; and Kim Jinho, who fostered cooperative labor-management relations, were all promoted to Executive Director.
Additionally, Geun Guk Kyung, previously Head of Accounting (Executive Director) at LG Display, has been appointed as CFO (Senior Executive Director).
