2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch Legal Protection Welfare Conference Held
Over 250 Attendees Including Park Hyuncheol, Chief Prosecutor of Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office
Commendations for Committee Members Dedicated to Reintegration of Legal Protection Beneficiaries

Officials involved in legal protection, who have been supporting the reintegration of individuals returning to society after criminal sanctions and working to prevent crime, gathered in one place.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korea Legal Protection Welfare Corporation (headed by Hwang Kyungjoo) held the "2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch Legal Protection Welfare Conference" at JS Wedding Convention in Seo-gu, Gwangju on the 26th, sharing the achievements of the past year.
The event was attended by approximately 250 people, including Park Hyuncheol, Chief Prosecutor of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office; Ko Gwangwan, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Gwangju; and Park Kyuntaek, National Assemblyman (Gwangsan-gap). Their presence reaffirmed the importance of legal protection. Other attendees included So Chanyoung, Director of the Gwangju Youth Delinquency Prevention Center; Choi Jeongseop, President of the Gwangju Medical Association; Ki Yeongok, former General Manager of Gwangju FC; Choi Sooyong, President of the Gwangju Football Association; and Lee Jaehun, Chairman of the Ministry of Justice’s Social Orientation Committee.
The event featured a promotional video highlighting the activities of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch, commendations for distinguished legal protection committee members and volunteers, and a ceremony for the presentation of support funds for legal protection projects. Participants also shared case studies from various fields and discussed ways to expand collaboration with the local community.
Branch Director Hwang Kyungjoo stated, "Helping legal protection beneficiaries fully reintegrate into society is the starting point for crime prevention and a core task for community safety. With this conference as a turning point, we will establish an even stronger support system."
