Cumulative Visitors Surpass 20 Million
Yangcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gijae) announced on November 27 that it has won the Grand Prize in the local government blog category at the ‘2025 SNS of the Year’ awards. The ceremony was held at the Korea Press Center and was organized by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association and the Council Policy Academy, with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Now in its 11th year, the ‘SNS of the Year’ awards evaluate the social media performance and content quality of public institutions and companies, selecting outstanding organizations based on a comprehensive assessment. The evaluation consists of quantitative measures such as the number of posts and visitors (40%), as well as expert reviews of content quality and storytelling (60%).
Yangcheon District has systematically managed its official blog by dividing it into five categories: ‘Briefing Yangcheon,’ ‘Notice Yangcheon,’ ‘Must-Read Yangcheon,’ ‘Vivid Yangcheon,’ and ‘Tips Yangcheon.’ Approximately 6,400 posts have been published, covering resident-focused policies, disaster safety information, daily life tips, and citizen participation content. The cumulative number of visitors has surpassed 20 million.
In particular, ‘Briefing Yangcheon’ has received positive feedback for delivering policy information on urban development, childcare, and welfare in an easy-to-understand and relatable storytelling format. The district also utilized its character, ‘Bolbbangbbang Haewoori,’ to create reporter-style content, further enhancing engagement.
Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon District, stated, “The Yangcheon blog has served as a bridge between district administration and daily life, communicating in the language of residents rather than bureaucratic terms. Moving forward, we will continue to deliver policies in a more accessible and friendly manner through the blog and various SNS channels such as Instagram and Facebook, strengthening communication with our residents.”
