According to the county on November 26, this crackdown has been initiated to reduce fine dust and wildfire risks during the winter season. It will focus on areas vulnerable to illegal burning, such as farmland and fields throughout Jinan County, areas adjacent to forests, and construction sites.

The county plans to strengthen on-site inspections by organizing special enforcement teams within the county’s Environmental Division and each town and township office.

The main targets of the crackdown include the open burning and dumping of waste vinyl and agricultural by-products left in rural areas, the incineration of household waste in wood boilers, and burning activities conducted at night. These will be strictly monitored and controlled.

If violations are found, minor offenses will be corrected on the spot immediately, while habitual or intentional violations will be dealt with in accordance with relevant laws, including the imposition of fines.

A county official stated, "Illegal burning is not only a major cause of environmental pollution such as fine dust, but can also lead to major disasters like wildfires. Jinan County will do its utmost to create a clean and safe living environment by continuously strengthening surveillance and enforcement to eradicate illegal burning."
