Busan Urban Corporation Obtains 'Human Rights Management System Certification' for the First Time

Strengthening the 'Social' Responsibility in ESG Management
Recognized for Internalizing a Culture of Respect for Human Rights Throughout All Management Activities

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) announced on the 25th that it has obtained the 'Human Rights Management System Certification' from the Korea Management Registrar (KMR) for the first time.


The 'Human Rights Management System Certification' is a system that evaluates an organization's establishment and implementation of a human rights management framework, based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the National Human Rights Commission of Korea's human rights management guidelines.


During the recent assessment, the corporation was highly rated for its: ▲ establishment of an excellent human rights management foundation ▲ strong interest and efforts by the management ▲ substantial operation of human rights implementation systems ▲ transparency in documentation and operations. In particular, the company's efforts to internalize a culture of respect for human rights throughout all management activities and to strengthen the 'Social' aspect of ESG management were highlighted.


Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "This first-ever certification of our human rights management system is the result of not only the management but all employees raising their awareness of human rights and striving to protect them," adding, "Through transparent and systematic human rights management, we will become a leading public enterprise in ESG management where citizens, partners, and employees are all respected."
