Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team Produces Multiple National Team Members Including Kim Hongyeol, Oh Cheoljae, and Kwon Seonghee

Half of the Six National Team Members Are from Dobong-gu

Seoul's Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Unseok) announced on November 26 that Kim Hong-yeol, Oh Cheoljae, and Kwon Seonghee, members of the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team, have been selected as members of the national breaking team for 2026. The three athletes secured their spots on the national team by finishing as runner-up (Kim Hong-yeol) and third place (Oh Cheoljae and Kwon Seonghee) at the 2025 Breaking K-Series Final held on November 23.

National breaking team members are selected based on the combined results of the first and second rounds of the Breaking K-Series overall ranking points and the final tournament results. Two male and two female national team members will compete at the Asian Games, which will be held in Nagoya and Aichi, Japan, in September and October next year. The Dobong-gu Office athletes, thanks to their recent performances, are raising expectations for their participation in next year’s Asian Games.

Oh Unseok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “I am delighted that the athletes representing Dobong-gu Office have been selected for the national team,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to support our athletes so that they can further elevate the status of both Dobong-gu and the Republic of Korea.”
