This lecture has been organized to establish an international network centered on scripts and to promote research activities. Edik Ghabuzyan will give a presentation on "The History, Evolution, and Principles of the Armenian Script," followed by a Q&A session.

Edik Ghabuzyan is the founder and co-director of GRANSHAN, an international typeface design competition. He also serves as the head of the Armenian Typeface Development and Preservation Department at the National Library Committee of Armenia, and teaches typeface design at the National Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia.

In 2012, he was awarded the Mobses Khorenatsi Medal by the President of Armenia in recognition of his contributions to typeface design development. To date, he has created more than 300 typefaces, and his representative typefaces, Mariam and Grapalat, have been designated as official typefaces of the Armenian government, leading the way in preserving and developing the tradition of Armenian typefaces.

Kang Jeongwon, Director of the National Hangeul Museum, stated, "I am delighted to invite Edik Ghabuzyan back to the National Hangeul Museum for the first time in nine years since his special lecture in 2016, and to hear his invaluable insights into the history of Armenian script and typeface design. Going forward, the National Hangeul Museum will continue to invite international experts and provide a platform for academic exchange to explore not only Hangeul but also writing systems from around the world."
