"Synergy Created by Combining Technological Strengths and Competitiveness of Both Countries"
The Korea International Trade Association has taken the initiative to promote cooperation between Korea and Israel in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
On November 25, the Korea International Trade Association held the "Korea-Israel Open Innovation Summit" together with the Israel Trade Representation in Seoul at Trade Tower, Gangnam-gu. The event was organized to foster business cooperation between Israeli companies and investment firms, which possess world-class capabilities in cybersecurity and AI, and Korean companies.

The event consisted of sessions introducing Israel's innovation technology and investment ecosystem, presentations on open innovation and CVC investment cases from major Korean conglomerates, as well as Korea-Israel business and investment consultations and workshops.
Choi Jaeho, Head of Strategic Business at SK Shieldus, delivered a keynote session on the topic of "Korea's Cybersecurity Ecosystem and Our Technologies," where he assessed the technological competitiveness of Korea's security industry and emphasized the need for collaboration with global companies. In addition, Israeli unicorn startups and venture capital firms such as Silverfort, Hirundo, and Heqa Security introduced innovative technologies including AI-based threat detection, cloud security, and autonomous security platforms, seeking opportunities for technology partnerships and joint projects with Korean companies.
Noh Gyuseung, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Company’s Zer01ne, and Hong Seokhyun, CEO of GS Ventures, presented their respective open innovation cases, sharing models of Korean conglomerates' participation in Israel's innovation ecosystem and collaboration with startups.
Yoon Jinsik, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, stated, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity for Korea's industrial competitiveness and Israel's world-class technological capabilities to create synergy and drive further development." He added, "We will continue to focus on revitalizing open innovation platforms that form the basis for cooperation with global technology-leading countries."
