Daegu Jung-gu District Office Removes 52 Signboards from Closed Businesses Free of Charge This Year

Daegu Jung-gu District Office (headed by Mayor Ryu Kyuhwa) announced on the 25th that it has implemented a free removal project to eliminate safety hazards caused by unattended signboards from closed businesses, taking down 52 signboards from 35 establishments this year.

This maintenance project targeted signboards that had been left unattended for an extended period due to business closures or relocations, focusing on those with a high risk of falling during natural disasters such as strong winds or those that negatively affect the city's appearance.

Junggu District Office in Daegu is removing signboards from closed shops that have been left unattended for a long time and pose a high risk of accidents.

Since 2013, the Jung-gu District Office has carried out this initiative annually, having removed over 330 signboards from closed businesses by last year, and continued to achieve additional results this year. The district office expects that the free removal service will help reduce residents’ financial burdens and contribute to creating a pleasant urban environment.

Mayor Ryu Kyuhwa stated, "The removal of signboards from closed businesses is an essential project for ensuring residents’ safety and improving the city’s appearance, and it has received strong support from the community thanks to our continuous efforts. We will continue to expand this project to maintain a safe and clean urban environment."
