Kia EV6 GT Ranks First in Europe, Surpassing Tesla Model Y and Polestar 4

Top Scores in Powertrain, Driving Performance, Safety, and Body

Kia announced on the 25th that its electric vehicle, the EV6 GT, ranked first in a three-way electric vehicle comparison test conducted by Germany's top three automotive magazines, "Auto Motor und Sport," outperforming Tesla's Model Y and the Polestar 4.

This evaluation targeted three models fiercely competing in the European electric vehicle market and assessed them across seven categories: body, safety, convenience, powertrain, driving performance, eco-friendliness, and cost.


The EV6 GT received the highest scores in the powertrain, driving performance, safety, and body categories, achieving a total score of 597 points, significantly surpassing the Model Y (574 points) and the Polestar 4 (550 points). In particular, the EV6 GT earned the top score in the powertrain category, which includes factors such as output and acceleration performance. It also received high marks in the driving performance section, which evaluates driving dynamics and handling, establishing itself as a leading high-performance electric vehicle and demonstrating its product competitiveness.


The EV6 GT boasts a maximum output of 448 kW, higher than the Model Y (378 kW) and the Polestar 4 (400 kW). When using launch control, its performance can be boosted up to 478 kW, showcasing its superior capabilities.


In the zero-to-100 km/h acceleration test, the EV6 GT clocked 3.5 seconds, faster than the Model Y (5 seconds) and the Polestar 4 (3.8 seconds). For mid-range acceleration (time to accelerate from 60 km/h to 100 km/h), the EV6 GT recorded 1.5 seconds, outperforming the Model Y (2.2 seconds) and the Polestar 4 (1.7 seconds).

The EV6 GT also received higher ratings than its competitors in the safety and body categories. In braking distance, the EV6 GT far outperformed both the Model Y and the Polestar 4, coming to a complete stop from 100 km/h in 33.6 meters, compared to 36.1 meters for the Model Y and 37.1 meters for the Polestar 4.


In the body category, the EV6 GT was praised for incorporating a variety of driving, safety, and advanced features, as well as for its user-friendly UX-based button layout.


A Kia representative stated, "We are delighted that the EV6 GT achieved high scores, surpassing prominent electric vehicle models in an influential German automotive magazine evaluation.
