"I Have No Knowledge of Reebak School"... Police Clear Kim Moonsoo of False Information Charges Yonhap News

The police, who investigated allegations of online comment manipulation in the presidential election by the conservative group "Reebak School," have concluded their investigation, determining that there is no connection to Kim Moonsoo, who was the People Power Party's presidential candidate at the time.

On November 24, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit announced that it had decided not to refer former candidate Kim to the prosecution on November 19, after he was accused of making false statements under the Public Official Election Act.

During the investigation into Reebak School and its leader Son Hyosook, the police found no evidence linking former candidate Kim or the People Power Party to the case.

Previously, in June, the civic group Citizens' Action to Establish Judicial Justice (Sasehaeng) filed a complaint against former candidate Kim for violating the Public Official Election Act.

At the time, Sasehaeng claimed that former candidate Kim had maintained a long-standing relationship with leader Son and was aware of the comment manipulation activities.

Former candidate Kim denied the allegations during the presidential election, stating, "I have no knowledge of this at all." However, Sasehaeng argued that this constituted the dissemination of false information and filed the complaint.

Meanwhile, on November 12, the police referred leader Son to the prosecution on charges including violations of the Public Official Election Act and the Information and Communications Network Act.
