The Daedeok Special Zone Science Center is emerging as a hub for the innovative growth of deep tech companies.

Airbus has selected Daejeon as its fourth tech hub, following Singapore, the Netherlands, and Japan, and plans to connect with the innovative ecosystem of the Daedeok Special Zone.

The Science Center, operated by the Foundation since 2021, is located on the 17th to 22nd floors of Expo Tower. It houses technology startups, incubators, early-stage investment institutions, science and technology support organizations, and specialized corporate support organizations in fields such as legal, tax, and labor, enabling a one-stop connection for the entire technology commercialization cycle.

Functioning as a complex innovation space where domestic and international deep tech companies and support organizations are concentrated, the number of success stories among tenant companies is increasing.

Panacea Co., Ltd., which won the CES Innovation Award for two consecutive years with its CXL-based artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure technology, is accelerating its entry into the global market after moving into the Science Center. Syntekabio Co., Ltd. is another notable example, having achieved rapid growth through technology advancement and investment attraction after moving in, and has since expanded and relocated to District 4 of the Daedeok Special Zone.

Over the past four years, the Science Center has been recognized for its role as a core platform for the technology startup ecosystem within the Daedeok Special Zone, providing tailored support and advanced research spaces for deep tech companies at various stages of growth.

Jung Heekwon, Chairman of the Foundation, stated, "The Science Center is a key space supporting the growth of deep tech companies in the Daedeok Special Zone," adding, "The Foundation will expand the Science Center's domestic and international collaborative ecosystem and foster it as a hub that leads the scaling up and global expansion of technology-based startups."
