Im Ansu, a member of the Sepaktakraw team in the workplace sports division of Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Donghwan), was awarded the Sports Medal 'Maenghojang' at the '2025 Sports Development Merit Awards and the 63rd Korea Sports Awards Ceremony' held at the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul on November 21.

Since competing in the 2007 World Sepaktakraw Championships, Im has been selected multiple times as a national team member through 2023, achieving remarkable results on the international stage. He has contributed significantly to enhancing Korea's international competitiveness in Sepaktakraw, winning 2 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals at events such as the World Championships, Asian Championships, and Asian Games.
In addition, at Goyang City Hall, he has played a dual role as both player and coach, strengthening the team, nurturing younger athletes, and expanding the sport’s local base, thereby playing a key part in the development of Sepaktakraw in the region.
Im stated, "This award is especially meaningful because it was made possible thanks to my teammates and coaches who have been with me for a long time," adding, "The support and encouragement I received while serving as a player-coach at Goyang City Hall have been a great source of strength. I hope to continue contributing to the development of Korean Sepaktakraw together with my junior athletes."
The city plans to use this award as an opportunity to further boost morale among workplace sports division athletes and to continue strengthening support for the development of the sport.
