Partial Victory in Recent Lawsuit Against Ahn Minseok
"Postponed My Wedding, Sharpening My Sword for Ten Years"
Jung Yura, daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), who was imprisoned as the main figure in the Park Geun-hye administration's abuse of power scandal, has announced plans for large-scale legal action, declaring, "I will file lawsuits against Han Donghoon and others," and adding, "I have been preparing for this for 10 years, even postponing my wedding scheduled for this year." On the 23rd, Jung stated through her social media account that she had recently won part of a lawsuit related to Assemblyman Ahn Minseok, and revealed her intention to pursue retrials, civil damages, and criminal complaints in a total of nine areas.

Jung said, "It took 10 years to bring Ahn Minseok (former assemblyman) to justice," and added, "Even when all my assets were seized, I never gave up on the lawsuit, driven by the determination to see him punished." She also revealed that she is preparing for her mother Choi Seo-won's retrial, stating, "My mother and former President Park were co-defendants, so if my mother is found not guilty, former President Park will also automatically be acquitted," and argued, "If the bribery charges are not upheld, the impeachment is also invalid."
Jung went on to announce her intention to file both civil and criminal lawsuits against members of the National Assembly who made statements during the abuse of power scandal, saying, "My lawyer is reviewing statements by Choo Mi-ae, Park Youngsun, Lee Junseok, and others to determine which can be prosecuted." She continued, "I will also file complaints against those who made false statements or fabricated evidence during the abuse of power scandal," and added, "I plan to file criminal complaints against people such as Jang Siho and Han Donghoon, who forced and committed perjury in the case." Currently raising three sons alone after two divorces, Jung stated, "I have postponed the wedding I planned for this year to prepare for this fight," and added, "I will show just how sharp the blade I have been honing for 10 years has become."
Previously, the Seoul Southern District Court Civil Appeals Division 3-2 (Presiding Judges Heo Ilseung, Song Seungwoo, and Lee Jongchae) ruled on the 21st in a remanded trial that former Assemblyman Ahn must pay Choi 20 million won in damages. The court stated that regarding the suspicions of 'overseas asset concealment' raised by Ahn in broadcasts and other media from 2016 to 2019, "We find these claims to be false, as he failed to properly clarify the sources or provide evidence supporting their truth over a long period."
