Pukyong National University Statistics and Data Science Major Sweeps Datory Lab Final Presentation

Students majoring in Statistics and Data Science at Pukyong National University swept the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Special Award at the "2025 Open Lab Data Utilization Datory Lab Final Presentation."

The Statistics and Data Science major at Pukyong National University, which was selected for the Datory Lab (Principal Investigator: Professor Kim Hyungwoo; Co-Investigator: Professor Oh Sangkon) this year, was recognized for its outstanding research achievements at the final presentation held at the Busan City Hotel Convention Hall from November 17 to 18.

Hosted and organized by Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Technopark, the "Open Lab Data Utilization Datory Lab" selects university research labs in the Busan area, where approximately 120 graduate and undergraduate students carry out analysis projects over six months and present their results at the final presentation.

At this presentation, the team of Lee Eunji (graduate student) and Lee Jaeseo (senior) received the Grand Prize (Busan Mayor's Award) by identifying high-risk roads and proposing ways to enhance policy effectiveness under the theme "Identification of High-Risk Roads in Busan Using the Accident Risk Index (B-ARI)."

The team of Kim Minyoung (graduate student), Moon Suhwan (graduate student), and Sung Jiweon (junior), as well as the team of Lee Jaeseong (senior), Lee Junghoon (senior), and An Seryeong (junior), each received the Excellence Award (President of Busan Technopark Award).

The team of Nam Kwanho (senior), Kwon Suin (junior), and Park Subin (junior) received the Special Award for their proposal on "Improvement Measures for the Free Ride System in Busan Urban Rail Transit."

The Statistics and Data Science major at Pukyong National University has demonstrated its excellence in the field of statistics and data science by winning multiple awards at domestic and international data analysis competitions, including the Datory Lab, the "K-Data Science Conference," and the "DIVE Global Hackathon."
