The event, held on November 21, was attended by over 100 people, including Lee Sangki, Chief of Changwon Fire Headquarters, as well as members of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Associations from both Changwon City and Jangheung County. The program included an opening ceremony, a greeting from the Fire Headquarters Chief, a welcoming address, and a commemorative photo session.

This exchange event has been held annually since 2018, following the sisterhood agreement between the Volunteer Fire Brigades of Changwon City and Jangheung County, to foster mutual exchange and cooperation.

This year’s event included discussions on ways to revitalize the operation of Volunteer Fire Brigades in both the Yeongnam and Honam regions. Participants also exchanged local specialty products and shared safety information.

The Changwon Volunteer Fire Brigade is committed to ongoing volunteer activities, not only participating in various events but also supporting neighbors in need, such as through the “Kimchi of Love” sharing event. In July, the brigade also visited flood-affected areas in Hapcheon County to assist with recovery efforts following heavy rainfall. In particular, the brigade has been dedicated to supporting firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services, contributing to the safety and development of the community.

Lee Sangki, Chief of Changwon Fire Headquarters, stated, “Sharing exemplary cases with the Jangheung County Volunteer Fire Brigade Association each year greatly contributes to the introduction of regional safety systems. We will continue to do our utmost to build safety infrastructure through ongoing mutual exchanges.”
