Direct Market and MOU Launched Simultaneously
Full-Scale Effort to Reach Seoul Consumers

Uiseong County (Governor Kim Jusoo) has embarked on a strategic initiative in central Seoul to expand distribution channels for its local agricultural products in the greater Seoul area.

From November 20 to 22, the county held the "Uiseong County Premium Agricultural Products Direct Market" at Jogyesa Temple in Seoul, launching a consumer experience-based direct sales event with leading local farmers.

Uiseong Agricultural Products Open Seoul Metropolitan Market in Partnership with Jogyesa Temple The Mayor of Uiseong County signed a business agreement with Jogyesa Temple of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order.

On the first day of the event, Uiseong County and Jogyesa Temple of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order signed a mutual cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote the distribution and sales of agricultural products, formally establishing a collaborative framework.

This agreement is seen as more than a simple event partnership; it is regarded as an institutional foundation for securing a stable supply base for Uiseong's agricultural products and expanding direct sales networks in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Through this agreement, the two parties have agreed to pursue multifaceted cooperation, including: ▲ stable supply and administrative support for Uiseong County’s agricultural products ▲ provision of sales channels and cooperation in operating direct markets by Jogyesa Temple ▲ joint promotion and marketing activities.

Based on this cooperative structure, the county plans to strengthen its connection with Seoul citizens and, in the long term, focus on enhancing the brand credibility of its local agricultural products.

During the three-day direct market event, a variety of products representing Uiseong-including garlic, apples, eggplants, sauces, mushrooms, honey, nurungji (scorched rice), and teas-were showcased, with participating farmers directly explaining and selling their goods. On-site tasting events and special promotional sales were also held, attracting significant interest from visitors.

Kim Jusoo, Governor of Uiseong County, stated, "The agreement with Jogyesa Temple marks an important turning point for Uiseong’s agricultural products to become more trusted foods among Seoul citizens," adding, "Based on this direct market event, the county will spare no administrative and marketing support to help local farmers increase their income and build a sustainable sales foundation."
