Namwon City Designates Three Excellent Collective Catering Facilities for Food Safety Management

Namwon Senior Welfare Center, Namwon Seongil Hospital, and Others

Namwon City in North Jeolla Province has designated three excellent collective catering facilities for food safety management this year, following last year.


According to the city on November 21, the newly selected facilities are the Jeonbuk Office of Education Student Training Center, Namwon Senior Welfare Center, and Namwon Seongil Hospital, totaling three locations.

Including the three facilities designated last year (Namwon Medical Center, Yongbuk Middle School, and Pyeonhan Sesang under Pungak Welfare Foundation), a total of six facilities are now designated and managed as excellent collective catering facilities for food safety management.


Previously, last month, the city conducted food safety management inspections and evaluations on 10 collective catering facilities that applied, including social welfare facilities, hospitals, industrial sites, and daycare centers, as well as three facilities subject to re-evaluation.


The food safety management inspection and evaluation covered a total of 32 items, including the environment and facilities, personal hygiene, process management, and food storage and transportation at the collective catering facilities.


The city will attach plaques certifying the designation as excellent collective catering facilities for food safety management to the three facilities selected this year, and plans to provide supplies for food poisoning prevention and management next month.


A city official stated, "Through the designation and management of excellent collective catering facilities for food safety management, we expect to proactively prevent food poisoning and improve hygiene standards in group catering."
