Gwangmyeong City Opens Municipal Daycare Center at Gwangmyeong Hoban Summit Grand Avenue

The 39th Public Daycare Center in the City

Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province opened its 39th public daycare center on November 20.

On this day, Gwangmyeong City held an opening ceremony for the "Municipal Hoban Summit Daycare Center" at Hoban Summit Grand Avenue Complex 1 in Gwangmyeong-dong.

This opening comes just eight months after the "Municipal Hoban Saetbyeol Daycare Center," another public daycare center, opened in Complex 2 of this apartment complex in March.

Notably, Complex 1, where the new daycare center has opened, consists of fewer than 500 households and is therefore not required by law to have a public daycare center. Nevertheless, in order to improve convenience for residents, the city held discussions with the Gwangmyeong 10R Housing Redevelopment Maintenance Association, the project operator, and succeeded in establishing an additional daycare center.

The newly opened daycare center has a floor area of 223 square meters and can accommodate 34 infants aged 0 to 2 years old.

Seungwon Park, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "Ensuring that children can grow up freely in a safe and pleasant environment is one of the city's most important responsibilities for the future," adding, "We will continue to expand childcare support so that children can grow up in better environments and parents can be relieved of some of the burdens of childcare in their daily lives."
