KEEI to Host "Clean Hydrogen Supply Chain Innovation Technology Forum"

The Korea Energy Economics Institute announced that it will host the "2025 Clean Hydrogen Supply Chain Innovation Technology Forum" at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul on December 2 in the afternoon.

This forum has been organized to comprehensively review innovation challenges and supply chain linkage strategies across the entire clean hydrogen value chain (production, transportation, utilization, and infrastructure), and to discuss practical medium- and long-term roadmaps. Leading global companies in the clean hydrogen sector and major domestic institutions will attend to share strategies and case studies encompassing technology, market, and policy.

Key international participants include Envision Energy (China), IHI and KHI (Japan), KBR (United Kingdom), and Siemens Energy and TransHyDE 2.0 (Germany). On the domestic side, approximately 200 participants are expected, including the Korea Energy Economics Institute, power generation companies, and hydrogen-related companies and institutions.

The forum will feature presentations and discussions on global leading strategies in clean hydrogen value chain technologies and future areas for collaboration.

The first session will provide a comprehensive overview of key technology trends in production, transportation, utilization, and infrastructure, delivered by experts in each field. The latest topics to be shared include: ▲ Optimization of green hydrogen production in response to variable renewable energy, ▲ Current status of liquefied hydrogen ship development, ▲ Economic feasibility of ammonia decomposition (cracking) based power generation, ▲ Commercialization challenges for hydrogen and ammonia direct combustion technologies, and ▲ The EU Hydrogen Backbone infrastructure roadmap.

The second session will be chaired by Professor Song Hanho of Seoul National University and will feature a comprehensive panel discussion and Q&A. Through in-depth discussions involving international speakers, JOGMEC (Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security), and the Korea Energy Economics Institute, key issues such as international infrastructure and market mechanisms will be intensively discussed.
