Up to 800,000 KRW Per Surgery for Removal of Up to 8 Polyps
Lotte Insurance announced on the 20th that it has launched the "FOR ME Colon Polyp Insurance for Health Checkups" through the lifestyle-focused insurance platform Alice.
The Colon Polyp Insurance for Health Checkups is a micro long-term insurance product that customers scheduled for a colonoscopy can easily enroll in via mobile devices, even up to the day before their health checkup.
The main coverage is a single benefit for colon polyp removal surgery, providing 100,000 KRW per polyp removed. The maximum payout per surgery is 800,000 KRW (up to 8 polyps).
Previously, to receive coverage for colon polyp removal surgery, customers had to purchase health insurance products with specific riders, often resulting in unnecessary coverage or higher premiums.
This new product is a practical plan that excludes unnecessary riders and offers only coverage for polyp removal surgery. For example, the annual premium for a 40-year-old woman is about 9,600 KRW.
The plan features a "no-claim refund" structure, allowing policyholders to receive a refund of 30% of paid premiums at maturity if there are no insurance claims during the policy period.
It is the only product available through mobile channels that provides exclusive coverage for colon polyp removal surgery with a refund option.
A representative from Lotte Insurance said, "This new product is a micro long-term insurance plan that covers polyp removal costs," adding, "We aim to provide practical coverage in line with the increasing demand for health checkups."
