According to Jeollanam-do authorities on the 19th, at around 8:17 PM, a report was received by the Coast Guard that the 26,546-ton passenger ship Queen Zenobia 2 had run aground in the waters near Jangsan Island, Jangsan-myeon, Sinan County, Jeollanam-do.

The passenger ship, carrying 246 passengers and 21 crew members, had departed from Jeju and was en route to Mokpo when it came to a stop after running aground on a reef near Jokdo, an uninhabited islet close to Jangsan Island.

It has been confirmed that approximately 150 people are being transported in the first round.
