Three Family Members Found Dead Within Two Days
Police Conduct Thorough Investigation Into Possible "Connection"
Following the discovery of a couple in their 70s found dead in a multi-family residence in Uiseong-eup, Uiseong County, North Gyeongsang Province, their son-in-law was also found dead in Busan on the same day. Police have launched a detailed investigation into possible links between the two incidents.
According to the Uiseong Police Station, at around 8:05 a.m. on the 19th, police responded to a report from the couple's daughter stating she could not reach her parents. Upon entering the residence, officers found the husband, Mr. A (73), and the wife, Ms. B (69), deceased. To determine the cause and time of death, police have requested autopsies from the National Forensic Service.
Given the absence of CCTV cameras at the scene, police are analyzing footage from nearby commercial buildings and streets, vehicle black box recordings, and conducting interviews with neighbors to thoroughly investigate whether any outsiders entered the premises and to reconstruct the circumstances before and after the incident.
Simultaneously, the family tragedy extended to another death. At approximately 10:50 a.m. the same day, the couple's son-in-law, Mr. C (47), was found dead in a lodging facility in Busan. Mr. C had sent pessimistic messages to his family between the 18th and 19th and had been reported missing after losing contact.
The police are considering all possibilities, including homicide, and are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the living conditions, psychological and financial circumstances, and any potential family conflicts involving the deceased couple and their son-in-law.
A police official stated, "We are closely examining the potential connection between the two incidents," adding, "We will determine the exact sequence of events through autopsy results and a thorough analysis of the surrounding circumstances."
