"Suspected of Attempted Trespassing... Under Investigation Before Formal Charges"
"Accused of Repeatedly Trying to Open the Lock"
The police have launched an investigation into a Japanese tourist suspected of repeatedly attempting to trespass at the residence of Jungkook, a member of the group BTS.
On November 19, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating a Japanese national in her 50s, identified as A, on suspicion of attempted trespassing.
A is suspected of having attempted several times to open the lock of Jungkook's single-family home in Yongsan-gu between November 12 and 14. It is not yet known whether A has returned to Japan.
The police plan to first confirm the facts of the case through victim interviews and other investigative procedures.
Meanwhile, a Korean woman in her 40s who broke into Jungkook's home parking lot in August was recently referred to the prosecution on charges of trespassing and violating the Stalking Punishment Act. A Chinese woman in her 30s who attempted but failed to trespass was given a suspension of indictment.
