Korea Startup Forum to Hold "MyData Policy Startup Meeting"

Discussion on the Expansion of the Right to Data Portability Policy

The Korea Startup Forum (KOSPO) announced on the 19th that it will hold the "MyData Policy Startup Meeting" on the 21st at D.CAMP Seolleung Branch in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.


The meeting has been organized to assess the impact of the Personal Information Protection Commission's ongoing policy to expand the right to data portability across the industry, and to gather a wide range of opinions from ecosystem stakeholders, with a focus on startups.

The agenda will include a keynote presentation and a panel discussion featuring industry experts. First, Kim Yonghee, Professor of Business Administration at Sun Moon University, will present key issues such as the potential weakening of domestic platform competitiveness and security concerns, under the theme "Social Issues and Countermeasures Arising from the Expansion of the Right to Data Portability."


The subsequent panel discussion will feature Choi Jiyoung, Executive Director of the Korea Startup Forum; Yoo Jeonghee, Director of the Korea Venture Business Association; Jeong Sindong, Professor at the Law School of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; and Jeong Wonjun, Research Fellow at the Korea Legislation Research Institute. The panel will discuss a variety of issues from the perspective of the startup ecosystem, including personal data protection, corporate information management, industrial competition, security systems, and institutional improvement measures related to the expansion of the right to data portability.


Executive Director Choi Jiyoung stated, "Before setting the direction for policy, we hope for the active interest and participation of ecosystem stakeholders so that we can broadly listen to the voices of the industry."
