John Roth, Global Vice President of Cadillac, introduced the new model at a launch event held in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the same day. He stated, "This is not simply an electrified version of our best-selling model, the Escalade, but a vehicle developed to allow customers to experience the sophistication and innovative technology Cadillac has built up over its 120-year history."
He further emphasized, "The driving range on a single charge reaches 793 kilometers, and in a third-party road test, it was able to travel over 900 kilometers. With one charge, it will be possible to make a round trip from Seoul to Busan."
This electrified model of the Escalade, which has sold over one million units worldwide since its first-generation launch in 1998, features an overall length of 5,715mm and a wheelbase of 3,460mm, making it the longest electric SUV currently available in Korea. It is equipped with a 205kWh battery produced by Ultium Cells, a joint venture between GM and LG Energy Solution, and has been certified for a driving range of 739 kilometers on a single charge.
The vehicle supports an 800V ultra-fast charging system, enabling up to 188 kilometers of driving with just a 10-minute charge. It also delivers a maximum output of 750 horsepower and a maximum torque of 108.5kg·m through its dual-motor AWD system. The four-wheel steering system allows the rear wheels to turn up to 10 degrees, making U-turns possible even on narrow roads.
In particular, the Escalade IQ enables 'hands-free driving' on approximately 23,000 kilometers of highways and major arterial roads through the Super Cruise feature, allowing the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel while keeping their eyes on the road ahead.
The front of the vehicle features the country's largest storage space, an 'e-trunk' with a capacity of 345 liters, while the interior is highlighted by a 55-inch curved LED display spanning the dashboard. The console-integrated refrigerator is designed with a dual-door structure, allowing it to be opened separately from both the driver and passenger sides for added convenience.
For the first time among Cadillac's electric vehicles sold in Korea, the Escalade IQ supports Dolby Atmos, providing both drivers and passengers with a more immersive sound experience.
Additionally, on November 18 (local time), the Escalade IQ was named 2026 'SUV of the Year' by North America's MotorTrend. It was recognized as the best luxury SUV, equipped with innovative technology, powerful performance, long driving range, and fast charging capabilities.
In Korea, the Escalade IQ is being released in a single premium sport trim, with a retail price of 277,570,000 won (including a 3.5% individual consumption tax). This is set at a higher price compared to the starting price of 130,000 dollars (approximately 190 million won) in the United States. A Cadillac representative explained, "The pricing reflects factors such as exchange rates, transportation, and certification costs," adding, "Please also consider that we made a significant investment to introduce Super Cruise in Korea."
During the pre-purchase consultation period that began on October 27, all units of the limited supply were fully reserved. Cadillac Korea is currently negotiating with headquarters to readjust supply volumes and plans to secure additional units to meet the demand from customers on the waiting list.
Hector Villarreal, President of GM Korea Operations, stated, "In Korea, the Escalade accounts for 60% of Cadillac's total sales, showing just how popular it is among Korean consumers. The Escalade IQ will write another success story in Korea."
