According to Sejong City on November 19, the list was released on the city's official website. The disclosure targets those who, as of January 1 this year, had unpaid local taxes or local administrative penalties and surcharges of at least 10 million won each, and who have been in default for over one year.
This year, 86 new delinquents (4.7 billion won) were added to the list, including 66 local tax delinquents (3.4 billion won) and 20 delinquents of local administrative penalties and surcharges (1.3 billion won). The disclosed information includes the delinquent's name, business name (corporate name), age, address (business location), delinquent amount, tax item, and payment deadline.
The list of delinquents can be found on the websites of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Sejong City. It can also be accessed via Wetax by navigating through Local Tax Information, Information Disclosure, and then Disclosure of High-Amount Delinquents.
A city official stated, "The purpose of disclosing the list is to encourage voluntary payment by delinquents and to foster a mature tax culture where honest taxpayers are respected." The official added, "For high-amount delinquents who continue to evade payment, we will continue to take strong collection measures such as travel bans to further strengthen our collection efforts."
