Career Planning Alongside Military Service... Dongseo University and Military Manpower Administration Operate "On-site Military Service Career Planning Booth"

Dongseo University, in collaboration with the Military Manpower Administration, has conducted on-site military service career counseling. Reflecting the current trend where joining the military is not just about fulfilling mandatory service but also about career planning, a new service has been introduced.

Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) announced on the 19th that its University Job Plus Center recently operated the "On-site Military Service Career Planning" program jointly with the Military Manpower Administration at the Student Plaza on the Jurye Campus.

This program was organized to help enrolled students who are about to enlist systematically plan their military service and post-discharge careers, taking into account their majors and aptitudes before beginning their service.

In this program, a professional counselor from the Military Manpower Administration provided one-on-one customized counseling to participating students. The counseling covered a range of topics, including guidance on enlistment timing and application procedures, recommendations for military specialties by major and department, enlistment counseling for each branch (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps), and information on changes to the military service system scheduled for the second half of 2025.

Participating students experienced military service career planning that comprehensively considered their aptitudes, majors, qualifications, and licenses through career counseling utilizing job preference tests and the military specialty recommendation system. Military service is being viewed not merely as fulfilling an obligation, but as an opportunity to develop professional capabilities and connect with future career paths.

In connection with this program, the University Job Plus Center also held a "Youth Employment Policy Briefing." The briefing provided a variety of information to strengthen youth employment capabilities, including an introduction to the K-MOVE School project, a youth employment policy quiz, and guidance on customized employment services for enrolled students.

Jeong Dowoon, Director of Student Employment, emphasized, "This is a practical counseling platform that helps students about to enlist plan their military service in connection with their majors and future careers," adding, "We will continue to expand customized career and employment support programs that assist students in planning their careers throughout each stage of their lives."
