Jeonju University Hosts "Local Culture Exploration" for International Students on Campus

As Part of the "University Museum Promotion Support Project"

According to Jeonju University on November 19, this exploration program was organized as part of the "2025 University Museum Promotion Support Project" to enhance international students' understanding of the region's history and culture and to strengthen their ties with the local community.

The program consisted of four courses: ▲Exploration of cultural heritage sites in Hanok Village ▲Wanju Daeseung Hanji Village ▲Understanding local culture and experiencing traditional culture ▲Calligraphy, literary figures, Chomuk-various methods of record keeping.

A total of 73 international students participated in the program, representing a diverse range of nationalities, including Nepal, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, Italy, and Singapore, all of whom are currently enrolled at Jeonju University. Together with faculty and staff, they visited museums, art galleries, and history museums in Jeonju and Gunsan, gaining firsthand experience of Korean history and culture.

Park Hyunsoo, Head of the Academic Research Office at the Jeonju University Museum, stated, "It was an important opportunity for international students to directly see and experience special exhibitions and artifacts centered on local collections and content, which helped promote the value of the region." He added, "By providing various cultural experiences and infrastructure, we hope this program has helped international students understand the history and culture of North Jeolla Province and adapt to life in Korea."
