Hapcheon County to Begin Full-Scale Restoration of Small Public Facilities Damaged by Floods

Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on November 19 that it will begin full-scale restoration of small public facilities-such as village roads, small streams, and farm roads-that were damaged by heavy rains, starting in November.

The county reported 360 cases of damage to small public facilities within its jurisdiction, with the total damage amounting to 40.3 billion KRW. Immediately after the flood, the county implemented traffic restrictions and carried out emergency repairs on facilities at risk of further collapse to prevent accidents involving residents.

To ensure the prompt and permanent restoration of small public facilities, Hapcheon County completed detailed design work in October. Using this year's secured budget of 16 billion KRW, the county will prioritize construction in urgent sections where resident safety is most at risk, sequentially secure additional project funds, and aims to complete the flood restoration work before the next rainy season.

County Governor Kim Yuncheol stated, "We will do our utmost to restore small public facilities such as village roads and farm roads-which are closely tied to residents' daily lives-quickly and safely, so that there will be no inconvenience to the community."
