The research project was led by the Policy Development Research Group for Regional Development of the Boseong County Council (headed by Vice Chairperson Moon Jeomsuk), with the Korea Agro-Food Policy Network serving as the implementing agency.
In particular, starting with the project kickoff meeting in July and continuing through a policy research roundtable in November, a variety of discussions involving residents, experts, and administration have heightened community interest in the topic.
In the final report, the research team presented mid- to long-term strategies for Boseong County's energy transition. Key proposals included establishing a "community-first" principle, creating sustainable village income through a five-stage development model, and strategically utilizing public infrastructure sites. These recommendations offered practical policy directions tailored to the circumstances of Boseong County.
A representative from the Policy Development Research Group for Regional Development stated, "This final report meeting is significant in that it presents a feasible energy transition model based on a comprehensive analysis of the unique characteristics and conditions of Boseong County. We will continue to provide active support and attention to ensure that the research results are translated into actual policies and projects."
Chairman Kim Kyungyeol said, "Through this final report meeting, the direction of Boseong County's energy policy has become even clearer. The council will fulfill its role to realize a sustainable energy transition in which residents directly participate."
Meanwhile, Boseong County Council plans to share the research results with relevant departments and gradually carry out follow-up procedures, including revising ordinances, identifying pilot projects, and developing measures to expand resident participation.
