Changwon Special City held the 19th Child Abuse Prevention Day ceremony at the City Hall Citizen Hall on November 18.

Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19) was established to raise social awareness and interest in the prevention and eradication of child abuse. The day serves as an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the importance of child protection and to foster an environment where all children can grow up safely, with respect and dignity.


The event featured a variety of programs, including the reading of the Child Rights Declaration, the announcement of the 2026 child protection slogan-"In 2026, Changwon Special City will stand together. By every child's side," the screening of a video on child abuse prevention initiatives, and a children's performance. In addition, commendations were awarded to individuals who have contributed to the prevention of child abuse and the protection of affected children, in recognition of their dedicated efforts.


Jo Jeongwoo, Director of the Changwon City Child Protection Agency, stated, "Preventing child abuse is a task that the entire community must undertake together. We will continue to do our utmost, in cooperation with Changwon City, to create an environment where children are respected and can grow up safely."


Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, "A city where children can freely dream and grow without fear is a city that is preparing for the future. I ask all citizens to watch over the children around you with warmth and to join us in spreading a culture of child protection."
