Due to a subway boarding protest by members of the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (NSDPD) during the morning commute, some subway trains, including those at Gwanghwamun Station, passed through stations without stopping.

According to Seoul Metro on November 17, starting at 8:33 a.m., northbound trains on Line 5 began passing through Gwanghwamun Station without stopping due to the NSDPD protest, and from 8:50 a.m., southbound trains also skipped the station. The non-stop passage at Gwanghwamun Station was lifted after 9:00 a.m.

A similar NSDPD boarding protest took place at Gil-eum Station on Line 4, resulting in southbound trains passing through without stopping. Service at the station has since returned to normal.

NSDPD activists have been staging boarding protests, citing the exclusion of budget allocations for disability rights in the government's 2026 budget proposal as the reason.
