BISTEP Holds 3rd R&D Planning Capability Level-Up Training

Advanced R&D Planning and Technology Analysis Using AI

The Busan Institute of Science and Technology Promotion (BISTEP), led by President Kim Youngbu, announced on November 18 that it had concluded the '3rd R&D Planning Capability Level-Up Training' at the Busan City Hotel on the 12th.

This final session of the year attracted over 60 participants, including R&D professionals from local research institutes, universities, companies, and relevant departments of Busan City, reflecting strong interest in the program.

The training, themed 'Leveling Up Core Competencies in R&D Planning and Technology Analysis Using AI,' focused on integrating artificial intelligence technologies throughout the R&D planning process. Participants experienced specific cases of enhancing productivity and accuracy in R&D planning by using various AI tools such as ChatGPT for tasks including drafting planning reports, conducting technology trend research, patent analysis, and prior art reviews.

The program consisted of two in-depth sessions: 'Drafting Planning Reports with AI as an Executive Assistant' and 'Patent Analysis and Prior Art Research Using AI.' It covered practical topics such as strengthening data-driven analytical skills, improving planning efficiency, and strategies for information search and planning support using AI.

Participants praised the training, commenting, "It was very helpful in understanding the overall use of AI," "It was so beneficial that I wished there was more time," and "I hope an advanced course will be offered."

Kim Youngbu, President of BISTEP, stated, "AI is now a key tool for simultaneously enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of R&D planning. Through this training, I hope local researchers will actively utilize AI to produce more in-depth planning reports and strengthen the region's R&D competitiveness."

The 'R&D Planning Capability Level-Up Training' is BISTEP's flagship annual program to strengthen practical R&D skills, held three times this year. BISTEP plans to continue offering customized training programs that reflect on-site needs next year, aiming to drive the growth of the regional innovation ecosystem.
