"I committed the crime because I was short on living expenses," suspect says
Police issue arrest warrant citing flight risk
A man in his 30s has been arrested after breaking into the Guri, Gyeonggi Province home of actress Nana (real name Im Jinah), formerly of the group After School, and committing robbery.
According to the Guri Police Station on the 17th, the Namyangju branch of the Uijeongbu District Court issued an arrest warrant for Mr. A, a man in his 30s, the previous day. The court cited concerns about flight risk, and the charges are for aggravated robbery resulting in injury.

The police initially booked Mr. A on charges of attempted aggravated robbery. However, after receiving a medical report confirming that Nana's mother had been injured, they changed the charge to aggravated robbery causing bodily injury and applied for an arrest warrant.
Mr. A is accused of breaking into Nana's home in Acheon-dong, Guri, at around 6 a.m. on November 15, wielding a weapon, threatening and injuring Nana and her mother, and demanding money. He reportedly climbed up to the veranda using a ladder he had prepared in advance, entered through an unlocked door, and assaulted Nana's mother by choking her and causing other injuries.
After a physical struggle, Nana and her mother managed to subdue Mr. A by grabbing his arm with their bare hands, preventing him from moving, and then called the police. When police and firefighters arrived, Mr. A had a laceration on his chin and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Nana's agency stated, "Nana's mother was injured during the struggle to subdue the intruder, but has since regained consciousness after receiving treatment. Nana was also injured and is receiving medical care." Police reported that Mr. A was unemployed and that the crime was not committed by a sasaeng fan or targeted at a specific celebrity's home.
The victims also testified that they had no prior acquaintance with Mr. A. During police questioning, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I did not know a celebrity lived there. I committed the crime because I was short on living expenses." Police plan to complete their investigation and soon refer Mr. A to the prosecution while he remains in custody.
