This training was organized to eliminate social prejudice and discrimination against people with disabilities and to promote an integrated society where people with and without disabilities coexist harmoniously. The lecture was delivered by In Sunhwa, a professional instructor from the Korea Disabled People’s Development Institute, and covered a wide range of topics including the definition and types of disabilities, empathy and understanding toward people with disabilities, accessible facilities, and wheelchair soccer.

The instructor, through lectures based on real-life cases, encouraged participants to reflect on stereotypes present in daily life and emphasized the importance of disability awareness sensitivity that public officials must possess in order to provide non-discriminatory administrative services.

Governor Jeon Jinseon attended the training and urged, “I hope this training will help public officials recognize disability as a part of social diversity and take the lead in creating a Yangpyeong County where people with and without disabilities can live happily together.”
