Gangwon Province Achieves Success in Japanese Market Entry for Local Companies... During the visit, Jungnammi Group, a leading bakery company in Gangwon Province, achieved a milestone by signing an export contract worth 3 million dollars with HARUCO Corporation from Japan.

Jungnammi Group's products are healthy snacks made from staple crops produced in Gangwon Province, such as potatoes, corn, and sweet potatoes. These products have attracted significant attention as "wellness and local-friendly bakery" items, especially as the K-Food trend gains momentum in Japan. The company is expected to grow into a premium bakery brand in the Japanese market.

This achievement was based on the enthusiastic local response at the "Korea Fair" pop-up store held at Takashimaya Department Store in Japan last August, where Jungnammi products ranked first in sales and drew long lines of customers waiting to purchase them.

Even after the pop-up ended, purchase inquiries continued, and the products were featured on Tokyo TV news, earning recognition as a successful K-Food case in Japan.

Through this export agreement, the products will begin shipping to Japan in 20-foot container units once or twice a month starting in December, with full-scale local sales set to commence.

In addition, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province significantly strengthened the foundation for Gangwon-style beauty industry expansion into the Japanese market by officially launching 40 products from 15 local beauty companies at a K-Beauty specialty store in Shin-Okubo, the center of Tokyo and a symbol of Korean Wave culture.

The products introduced include natural ingredient cosmetics, skin-soothing ampoules, and hair care items, all of which have attracted strong interest from local consumers and buyers.

This achievement is part of the "Support Project for Entry of Local Cosmetics and Beauty Products into Specialty Stores," promoted by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and serves as a tangible example of helping local small and medium-sized enterprises secure offline sales channels in Japan.

Kim Manho, Director of Economic Affairs for Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "Gangwon's agricultural food and beauty industries, together with K-Content, are becoming central pillars in the spread of the Korean Wave in Japan. We will continue to actively support Gangwon companies in expanding overseas based on their technological capabilities, brand competitiveness, and sustainable growth potential."
