Seo District in Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 13th that the traveling Korean traditional music performance program, 'Dingdong! Sseuksak Gugak,' which has been underway since September to expand cultural opportunities in the region, has received a great response from welfare facility users.

This program, under the slogan "Swiftly to Your Door, Deeply into Your Heart," is operated by having students from the Seogu Bitgoeul Gugak Training Center and local Korean traditional music groups visit welfare institutions such as nursing homes and children's facilities to deliver performances directly.

The performances are tailored to the needs of each facility's users. For senior care facilities, traditional Korean music genres such as pansori, folk songs, and dance are presented, while for children's facilities, fusion Korean traditional music and familiar content like animation soundtracks are incorporated to enhance audience satisfaction.

Participants in the program expressed their satisfaction, saying, "It's difficult to visit performance venues due to mobility issues, so we're grateful that the performers come to us," and "Hearing my favorite songs performed in Korean traditional music was fascinating and felt refreshingly different."

Lee Hyunsun, Head of the Culture and Arts Division, stated, "We will continue to expand traveling performances so that Korean traditional music can naturally permeate all corners of the local community," and added, "By promoting the enjoyment of Korean traditional music in daily life, we aim to bridge the cultural gap between generations."
