Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has re-entered Samsung Electronics' top five clients after two quarters.
According to Samsung Electronics' third-quarter report disclosed on November 14, the company’s top five clients are Alphabet, Apple, Deutsche Telekom, Hong Kong Techtronic Industries, and Supreme Electronics. Sales to these five clients accounted for approximately 14% of the company’s total revenue.
Compared to the previous quarter, Verizon of the United States dropped out of the top five, while Alphabet returned to the list for the first time since the first quarter. This change is attributed to increased semiconductor sales to Alphabet during the third quarter.
By region (on a consolidated basis for the third quarter), the Americas recorded the highest net sales at 33.0958 trillion won, followed by Asia & Africa (13.888 trillion won), Europe (12.9708 trillion won), and China (12.5956 trillion won).
Samsung Electronics stated, “Through a total of 27 trillion won in research and development (R&D) investments during the third quarter, we registered 7,766 domestic patents and 7,475 U.S. patents, among others.”
