Extended Ambassadorship for Actress Hong Jimin, Singers Kyungseo and Yezi, and Ulala Session
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on the 14th that it had appointed actor Ricky Kim as the new promotional ambassador for the city and presented him with a certificate of appointment at the mayor's office on the 3rd floor of Guri City Hall on the 13th.

Ricky Kim, a native of Texas, USA, debuted as a model in 2005 and has since appeared in various productions such as the dramas "On Air," "Hero," and "Swallow the Sun." He has been loved as a "family-oriented actor" by sharing his daily life with his family on entertainment programs, and more recently, he has been making a positive impact through volunteer work both domestically and internationally.
Going forward, he plans to actively deliver messages of community coexistence by participating in Guri City's "citizen participation-based publicity policies" and "small business and neighborhood commercial district revitalization campaigns."
On the same day, musical actress Hong Jimin, singers Kyungseo and Yezi, and the vocal band Ulala Session were also reappointed as promotional ambassadors for Guri City. The three teams have contributed to raising the city's image through their active participation in various municipal events and local promotional activities since their appointment as ambassadors in 2023, and their activities will be extended for another two years in recognition of their contributions.
Hong Changsik, the father of musical actress Hong Jimin, was an independence activist who joined the secret society Baekdusanhoe in 1942 and operated in the Hamgyongbuk-do area before being arrested by the Japanese authorities the following year and serving time in prison. He was awarded the Patriotic Medal of the Order of Merit for National Foundation in 1990. Due to this connection, Hong Jimin has frequently participated in city-hosted events, taking the lead in promoting Guri City.
In particular, she played a significant role in delivering municipal messages by singing the national anthem at the 73rd Liberation Day ceremony. She is also scheduled to hold a solo concert at the Guri Art Hall on December 25.
The female duo Kyungseo and Yezi have expressed their special affection for Guri City by performing at various municipal events. Notably, Yezi, who graduated from elementary and middle school in Guri, is a "singer from Guri" and won first place consecutively at the Guri City Youth Song Festival in 2015 and 2016.
The vocal band Ulala Session has gained popularity with outstanding vocal skills and witty performances, standing out by winning as the "King of Singers" on a music entertainment program. Member Kim Myunghun contributed to municipal publicity and delivered a friendly image to citizens by appearing in Guri City's YouTube content "Ajae's Interference."
Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri, said, "Ricky Kim is an actor who has received much love from the public for his bright and healthy image, and as a person who practices warm family values and positive influence, I expect him to become a reliable promotional ambassador who will promote a citizen-centered and happy Guri City."
He added, "I sincerely thank Hong Jimin, Kyungseo, and Yezi for their active participation as ambassadors over the past two years, and I ask for their continued dedication in promoting Guri City in the future."
