With the completion of the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test on November 13, high school students have been given some time to relax and rest. In light of concerns that student misconduct could escalate during this period, the authorities have designated a "Student Lifestyle Guidance Intensive Period" until December 31. Schools have been instructed to establish and implement both on-campus and off-campus lifestyle guidance plans. In cooperation with relevant organizations, there are plans to strengthen the youth protection system at the community level by building safety nets for out-of-school youth and increasing patrols in vulnerable areas.
According to the Sejong City Office of Education, joint lifestyle guidance activities will be conducted with related agencies to prevent student misconduct and delinquency during evening hours. The purpose of these joint activities is to prevent temporary acts of misconduct by students who feel liberated after the exam, and to protect them from new harmful environments such as cyberbullying and online gambling.
The initiative focuses on preventing school violence by improving language culture, such as reducing the use of slang, and on promoting a healthy youth culture.
Approximately 70 staff members from related organizations, including the Sejong City Office of Education (School Policy Division, School Safety Division, Mediation Division), Sejong Police Agency, Sejong Southern and Northern Police Stations, Sejong Autonomous Police Committee, Sejong City Hall, Sejong Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, and the Harmful Environment Monitoring Team, will participate in these activities as "Student Life Guardians."
The Student Life Guardians will be divided into three teams and will conduct intensive inspections from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in student-dense areas such as Dodamdong, Naseongdong, and Jochiwon-eup. They will visit multi-use facilities frequented by students, such as PC rooms, karaoke rooms, and restaurants, to check usage conditions. They will also request cooperation from business owners to strengthen ID checks at establishments with age restrictions, and carry out promotional activities to prevent school violence and protect youth.
Acting Superintendent Koo Yeonhee said, "I would like to thank all the relevant agencies for their cooperation in ensuring that students can safely conclude their daily routines after the exam," adding, "The Sejong City Office of Education will continue to strengthen student lifestyle guidance and school violence prevention, and will work together with the community so that young people can practice a culture of respect and consideration."
